October 6 ... objective - install left wing! |
Thursday October 6, 2005 - the restoration team
showed up in full force and a lot of progress was made. Well, we had a productive day. We installed the left wing, and the leading edge. Removed and replaced one of the brakes, and worked on the main landing gear prep. We had nine people today. That really helped out. We are still missing a couple of the wing attach bolt nuts. The bolts are in but the nuts were cut off during wing removal. The machinist has one of our trunion links and a trunion pin, so he can make the parts that we need to hang the gear. After the gear is hung, we will need the machinist to make a mount for the side brace. That mount was removed on both wings during wing removal, and did not make the trip up north. After that mount is made, we can come off the jacks and put the weight on the wheels. Next work session is Monday, Oct. 10th at 4PM. |
