K.I. Sawyer Squadron Reunions

87th/62nd FIS Reunion - Saturday July 12th 2008

3-24-08 - Spring Update!!!!

We are rolling towards a great reunion! The DAV, American Legion, and the VFW magizines have published our reunion and dates and the inquires are beginning to come in. Right now we have approx. 25 - 30 alumni and their spouces registered. The second letter to all the ole 56th CAMRON and 62nd FIS folks has gone out and they are responding. An email has been sent out to all former 87th FIS alumni, and they are responding also. Now it is time for the rest of you to respond and register. We have some great items being donated as door prizes plus we are going to have a couple of great raffles. We will also have squadron pins, special reunion pins, special edition patches, plus some surprises. Consider sending in your registrations as soon as possible so we can start paying our bills for the reunion event.

Make plans now to attend this July 12th. Come and see your buddies from both the 56th CAMRON, the 62nd and 87th FIS. You will be surprised who has signed up to attend.

Our special guest's are pictured below. The 62nd Fighter Training Squadron out of Luke AFB, AZ. We are hoping to have representatives from the squadron. They plan to bring one or two of their F-16's to be parked next to our renovated F-101B.

If you have any questions or comments, please call Lani Duquette at 906 475-7179. Registration checks should also be sent to Lani at 193 Sunset Drive Negaunee, MI  49866.

See you all this summer!!!!

Believe it or not, we are alive and well!  After putting several ads in veteran's magizines, the fruits of our labor are starting to show.  We are beginning to hear from a lot of former 56 CAMRON and 62nd FIS alumni.  Keep those names and addresses coming.

The cost of this year's reunion will be the same as the last reunion.  $20.00 per person.  We will post the childrens rate soon.   Please start to send in your money as soon as possible so we can start collecting some goodies for door prizes and start paying other expenses.  Send your registrations to:

Lani Duquette,  "Reunion 2008"

We will have a special treat at this year's reunion.  A renouned artist from Arizona, Paul F. Wertzel, Sr., call-sign "Legs" has created three original paintings to be raffled off during our reunion.  These originals would normally retail for any where from one-thousand to fifteen hundred dollars.  They will be one of a kind.  The first ticket drawn will get first choice and so on.  The originals are shown below.  The size of these paintings are in the range of 18 to 20 inches high and at least four feet wide.  The price of the tickets has yet to be determined.
