The Boeing B-52 D model tail number 55-0062 was received in the SAC inventory in February, 1957. It was initially was assigned to the 42nd Bombardment (Heavy) Wing - Loring AFB, Maine. This aircraft flew numerous missions over North Vietnam for 19 months flying with several wings out of Anderson AFB Guam and U-Tapao RTAFB, Thailand. This bomber flew a total of 14,984 hours in 26 years. On September 15, 1983, the B52D 55-0062 flew into K I Sawyer for it's final landing. |
