Attention all former 62nd Fighter Interceptor Squadron Alumni

A fund drive has started to raise funds to repaint and re-decal the F-101B Voodoo currently on static display on the former K.I. Sawyer AFB outside of Gwinn, Michigan.

If the funds are raised, the aircraft will be removed from static display after Labor Day this fall. It will be moved into K.I. Sawyer Heritage Air Museum Renovation Hangar located on the Marquette County Airport facility.

The aircraft will be worked on by volunteers until the end of October, at which time work will end until the 1st of May 2008.

The project, which is called “Redoo the Voodoo”, requires painting, re-decaling the entire aircraft, and making any repairs necessary.

This aircraft has been standing guard outside, in some of the harshest elements in the world, at K.I. Sawyer for the past twenty years.

The renovation is scheduled to be completed no later than the 6th of July 2008.

To celebrate this renovation the 87th Fighter Interceptor Squadron Reunion Committee, which had planned a reunion for July as the next scheduled get-together, has decided to make this a joint reunion and invite all former 62nd FIS alumni to join in and together we will all celebrate the renovation of the “Voodoo.”

Review more details of this reunion by going to the “Happenings” menu tab and click on Base Unit Reunions.

All you old “Voodoo” fixers and flyers should plan to attend this reunion and rollout in July of 2008.

To raise funds for the “Redoo the Voodoo” Project we are offering a special edition F-101B “Voodoo” litho to everyone who donates over $101.00. Of course, we will accept anything under or over that amount.

Most of the funds raised for the F-106A Renovation Project came from alumni veteran’s, so all you “Voodoo” guys and gals, reach down deep and help us get this project done.

Checks or money orders may be sent to the KISHAM 500 South Third Street, Marquette, MI  49855  Please note on the check or money order, “Redoo Voodoo.” Donations may also be sent via the museums Pay Pal Account.

Do it now, we need to raise at least $5000.00 by the first of August 2007.
