"461 is standing on her own!"

Phase 2 - Day 3

She's starting to look like she could fly!

Woody, Lani, Steve, Jim Heinz and Bob Vick were busy this morning.

Jim and Woody are still finishing up rivets while Steve and Lani installed the landing gear collars. After the collars were secured, the jacks were removed and now we are pleased that 0461 is completely standing on her own three legs.

Bob Vick and Steve then spent some time working in the cockpit and nose wheel well.

They also looked at options for installing a look a like radar on top of the instrument panel and constructed a template for covering the nose wheel well.

Woody and Jim head up to the speed brake board area next Thursday to start the process of closing them up. From there it will be on to the underside of the wings to start filling some holes where the wing pylons used to be installed.

We are moving along as planned. More local volunteers would help but we realize it is some what spring around here and people have a lot to do.

If you are interested, come out and give us a hand. We meet every Thursday at 9 am.
